Sir – By talking about the importance of love in the education of children and by criticising parents for spending on cars and holidays instead of sending their children to private schools (Head hits out at stigma about paying for education, Report, October 3), Dr Hands appears virtuous in his elitism and very ignorant about the financial circumstances of the non-wealthy majority.
We all pay for state education through taxes and there would presumably be so much more to spend if we had not been forced to bail out feckless bankers and deal with the casualties of a culture obsessed with wealth, celebrity and exam results, most of whom no doubt support, hand-in-hand with Dr Hands, the belief that money can buy you love.
