I REFER to the story that appeared on October 21, ‘I’m sorry for my rape lie’.
What on earth is this I read, that there is such a position in Oxford City Council as a ‘sexual and domestic abuse co-ordinator’ presumably with a department and all that goes with such a position.
I’m quite sure that I won’t be alone among your readers in thinking that surely, sexual and domestic abuse or violence is, or should be, dealt with by the police. And if it is dealing with the aftermath of such abuse or violence, then it’s a matter for Victim Support, or if trauma is involved, then the health authority. But whatever it is or belongs, it’s certainly not the city council, surely.
Or am I missing something in the telling here?
