IN response to Layla Moran’s letter of October 17, I completely agree that Oxfordshire residents should contact our MPs. Across the county, there is clearly an incredible depth of feeling about these cuts which absolutely attack the poorest and most vulnerable in our society (children can’t vote after all).
Perhaps, however, Layla might also speak with her own party leaders, whose support for such drastic measures has facilitated the Government in making such drastic cuts in the first place.
This Coalition Government claims to be liberating local Government, but apparently by giving it less money. Cuts which take away much-needed services from young families in particular are yet more proof that such imposed austerity measures benefit only the wealthy minority, despite the constant reassurances that cuts are good for us.
