IN your article hailing the expected reopening of the Gloucester Green toilets (Just a wee bit more work and it’s done, October 21), Councillor John Tanner says: “Oxford is an important centre for shoppers, tourists and students and we need to have the very best toilets.”
So why are there only seven public toilets in central Oxford, most of which close at 5pm? And why did the council close some perfectly good toilets, even though most Oxford residents think that there are too few?
