HUNDREDS of Oxfordshire residents are expected to line the streets of the county to pay their respects to a fallen soldier.
Lance Corporal James Brynin, an Intelligence Corps soldier attached to 14th Signal Regiment (Electronic Warfare), will be repatriated to RAF Brize Norton today.
The plane carrying his body will land at the Carterton airbase at about 1.30pm and the cortege will pass the memorial garden at about 3.45pm.
Residents are expected to line the route as the cortege makes it way to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for about 4.45pm for a post mortem examination.
L Cpl Brynin was killed in Helmand, Afghanistan, on Tuesday, October 15. He received a fatal gunshot wound after coming under enemy fire during an operation.
Norton Way in Carterton will be closed from about 1.30pm, whilst Station Road in Brize Norton will be closed for about 10 minutes when the cortege leaves the base.
There will also be road closures for the cortege at the Marston Ferry Road and Cherwell Drive junction, Marston Road and Cherwell Drive junction, and at the roundabout at the entrance to the John Radcliffe Hospital.
