VILLAGERS attended an apple day to celebrate the successful harvest season.
Local apple varieties were on show and visitors were able to press their own juice, try chocolate-covered apples and even play apple cricket.
The annual event in Chadlington, near Chipping Norton, is organised by and raises funds for Chadlington Playgroup.
Mum-of-one Helen Richardson, whose daughter Ava, six, went to the pre-school, visited on Saturday.
Mrs Richardson said: “It was brilliant, a really lovely day – well attended and the weather held out.
“It’s a celebration of this time of year when there are a lot of apples, and a celebration of the wonderful varieties.
“It is much better to pick apples off your local tree then get them from a supermarket.”
Andy Howard, of the Heritage Fruit Tree Company, said: “It was a great day and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
“I was giving out samples of Oxfordshire apples. There are about 30 different varieties of Oxfordshire apples and the Blenheim Orange seemed to go down best.”
