FROM its winding passageways and bustling streets, Oxford is full of secrets.

Now performance company Standby Theatre wants to hear them, whether they are big, small, funny, life-changing or mundane.

They will turn Oxford’s secrets into an interactive performance event in one of the city’s hidden spaces.

Lotty Englishby, co-founder of Standby Theatre, said: “There’s a fantastic element of risk with this kind of production. It’s incredibly exciting to rely on the people of Oxford to send us their secrets as source material for the show. “We’re relying on you all to pick up a pen and get involved.”

The theatre company has produced cards on which people can submit their secrets, all of which will be anonymous and any names will be changed. At the end of November, Standby will begin to turn the testimonies into theatre.

Secrets can be submitted by email to standbytheatre.co.uk or by sending a postcard – available from locations including the Old Fire Station, George Street, the O3 Gallery in the Oxford Cattle Quarter, and the Central Library – to 47 Oxford Road, Cowley, Oxford OX4 2EN.
