RUSKIN College principal Audrey Mullender will stand down on November 30.
Prof Mullender, 61, said she was retiring for personal reasons, including the care of her elderly parents.
She became principal in 2004 and oversaw the sale of the college’s Walton Street headquarters to Exeter College to fund the redevelopment of its Old Headington home in Dunstan Road.
The college was formed in 1899 to provide education opportunities to working class men denied access to university.
General secretary Dr Chris Wilkes will be the acting principal.
