CHRIST Church can hardly be accused of being slow as it is already eyeing the prospect of selling off land neighbouring the proposed Barton West estate.
It does make good sense, from the university college’s point of view, to be thinking about the land being developed “long term” rather than during the rush of building as Barton West takes shape.
The prospect has prompted a thoughtful reaction from the existing estate, and Oxford City Council.
Barton West will ‘settle down’ as a new estate and then, as demand grows for expansion, the college will be ideally placed to reap the financial benefit.
