A 50-YEAR-old lorry driver was attacked in Abingdon by two men who flagged him down.

The man was driving towards Abingdon town centre when a man in a high visibility jacket hailed him at about 8.45am on Sunday.

The driver parked outside the entrance to Abingdon Football Club in Culham Road and as he got out the man in the jacket and another ran towards him and attacked him.

He was left was a fractured cheekbone and taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

A woman with short blonde hair wearing a black coat appeared to be encouraging the assault.

She was then seen speaking to occupants of a small, gold-coloured vehicle being driven away from the football club.

The attackers may have left the scene in a small black car.

The man wearing the high visibility jacket is described as white, in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5ft 10ins tall, with black hair and of medium build. He was wearing jeans and a blue jumper underneath the jacket.

The second suspect is a white man, in his fifties, also about 5ft 10ins tall, of stockier build than the first offender, unshaven, with light-coloured thinning hair. He was wearing a padded waist length coat, which was light green or khaki coloured.
