Jurors in the trial of metal merchants were yesterday told the case will run in to next month. Five workers at TR Rogers & Sons are accused of accepting metal from undercover police posing as thieves.
Judge Ian Pringle told the Oxford Crown Court jury of 10 men and two women: “I am sorry to have to tell you that this case may occupy some, if not all, of the first week of November.”
The five defendants deny charges of concealing, disguising or converting criminal property. They are: Terence Rogers, 70, of High Street, Drayton St Leonard; Simon Rogers, 42, of Bromsgrove, Faringdon; Martin Pace, 36, of Brookmead Drive, Wallingford; Ian Marshall, 29, of Evenlode Drive, Berinsfield, and Darren Andrews, 34, of Colwell Road, Berinsfield.
The trial continues.
