A TALENTED student died in hospital with head injuries seven days after he fell at his Oxford University college.
Conor Robinson, 21, was found at Magdalen College last Tuesday night and taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, where he died a week later.
The second year English Literature student is believed to have fallen down a flight of stairs near his room.
He was treated by surgeons and was in intensive care but his condition worsened on Tuesday.
The College President, Prof David Clary, said: “He was a popular and very promising student.
“The whole college is greatly saddened by this loss and extends its deepest sympathy to Conor’s family and friends at this very difficult time.”
He described the incident as an accidental fall.
Mr Robinson, from County Durham, was a promising actor with the National Youth Theatre.
Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
An inquiry was also launched by the university amid suggestions that Conor may have been celebrating before his fall.
An inquest into his death has yet to be formally opened.
