I HAVE to agree with Adrian Taylor (October 10) with regards to the decision to award the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust directors with massive bonuses as scandalous.
I too spent a few days in hospital a year ago, and found the staff worked extremely hard, were very co-operative and friendly and their reward is basically peanuts.
Each and everyone of these directors should hand the bonus over to the hospital workers – especially the nurses.
Failure to do this should result in their resignations. As for the suggestion that they should be replaced by management, I disagree, but what should happen is the return of the matron.
I hope the directors do the right thing but I very much doubt they will.
