An Oxford University student died in hospital yesterday seven days after he was found with head injuries following a fall at his college.

Conor Robinson, 21, was found at Magdalen College in High Street last Tuesday night and taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital where he died yesterday.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious.

Thames Valley Police spokesman Lucy Billen said: "Thames Valley Police is investigating the death of a 21-year-old man in Oxford.

"The man was found with a suspected head injury at Magdalen College on October 8 and taken to the John Radcliffe for treatment where he died yesterday.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.”

She added: "He was found near his room late at night.”

Prof David Clary, President of Magdalen College, Oxford, said: "It was with great sadness that we learnt that Conor Robinson, a second-year undergraduate at Magdalen College, died on October 15 at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

"He had been in intensive care after incurring a head injury at the college on the evening of October 8 in an accidental fall.

“Conor was from County Durham and was studying English. He was a popular and very promising student.

"The whole college is greatly saddened by this loss and extends its deepest sympathy to Conor's family and friends at this very difficult time."
