A man dressed as a policeman punched a reveller wearing a pirate costume and threatened drinkers with a kitchen knife at a fancy dress party.
Christopher Eadie, 23, was dressed as a constable when he hit the 34-year-old man in the face at the party in The Jolly Postboys in Florence Park on Friday night.
Eadie was thrown out of the pub after the attack at 11.40pm, but later returned to threaten drinkers with a knife. He was then tackled to the floor and arrested by police.
The victim suffered bruising to his face.
Eadie, of Ferry Hinksey Road, West Oxford, admitted affray, assault, and threatening a person with a blade at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
He was remanded in custody to be sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on October 28.
