Wouldn’t it be refreshing if the Vale of White Horse District Council were to tell Craig Farmer, who lives in a converted shipping container on land owned by Les Wells, that they have had a change of heart and will allow him to remain in his converted shipping container that he has turned into a home?
This proposed gesture would be seen as a real act of kindness and a realisation that, as a council, they have a duty of care to people living within their jurisdiction.
Will this happen?
I think not because the council will adopt the attitude of what they say goes and are prepared to put another person on to the street by making him homeless, because they do not appreciate where he is currently living and because their rules have allegedly been flouted.
This is bureaucracy gone mad. They care more about rules rather than people.
I hope that either they change their minds or the planning officers rule in favour of Mr Farmer and Mr Wells.
