THANK you for printing the photograph of our calligraphy stall at the town hall over-50s skill-sharing event recently.
We were very pleased to be invited and enjoyed the three hours meeting people including an Oxford Scribes member from more than 25 years ago, representatives from the many organisations present, the fire brigade, University of the Third Age, RSPB etc, and being entertained by a group from Leys singing their hearts out.
Some readers may be interested to know more about our society, Oxford Scribes, a group about to celebrate their 30th anniversary. There used to be many classes run by adult education, with exhibitions in the Westgate Library Gallery. We have approximately 100 members, many of whom having left Oxford, still maintain their link with Scribes. For more information consult the website: www.oxfordscribes.co.uk.
