IT MAY only be October, but preparations are well under way for this year’s Christmas Light Festival. Bosses at Cowley’s Mini Plant invited more than 30 members of staff from the city’s schools and local artist Sean Hampson taught them how to make willow-framed lanterns.
They will now go back to their schools and run their own workshop sessions to create more than 500 lanterns for the parade on Friday, November 22.
Arts co-ordinator at Cutteslowe Primary School Emma Taylor, 25, said: “It was really useful to know how to do it rather than just watching a demonstration.” For more information on the Christmas Light Festival visit http://www.oxfordschristmas.co.uk
