A SUSPECTED drugs den has been closed down in Bicester after a police operation.

Officers say they closed the home in Lyneham Road because it was associated with reports of drug-related crime and antisocial behaviour.

The closure order came after a series of targeted investigations, warrants and the discovery of a large amount of class A drugs at the premises.

Pc James Elton said: “This drugs house closure is the result of hard work by the Bicester neighbourhood team, the Cherwell antisocial behaviour officer and residents of Lyneham Road.

“Working together, we have been successful in removing the occupants of the property, bringing a great sense of relief to the local community, who have suffered for a long period of time.

“The residents of Lyneham Road deserve great credit for their willingness to step forward and make statements, and we have worked closely with them to provide reassurance in a time of uncertainty.”
