A CAMPAIGN to clean up Rose Hill has been extended by city council bosses.

The council is extending its “cleaner, greener Oxford” campaign to the estate from today.

It will tackle litter, dog fouling and recycling as well as improving the surrounding area.

The campaign was launched in October 2009 and has been introduced to communities including Blackbird Leys, East Oxford, Jericho, Barton and Cowley.

Councillor John Tanner, city executive board member in charge of the campaign, said: “The aim is to tidy up Oxford and get local residents involved in keeping their neighbourhoods clean.

“I will be joining local residents to get involved with the community litter-pick on Saturday.

“There are still too many people dropping litter, letting dogs foul the footpath and not recycling as much as they could. We want to change that.”

There will be a community litter-pick on Saturday from the children’s centre at The Oval from 10am to 2pm.
