THE public are being given the chance go behind the scenes and discover more about the county’s archaelogical finds.
Oxfordshire County Council’s museum service will hold an open day at its resource centre in Standlake on Sunday.
There will be guided tours and a chance to talk to conservators, staff and volunteers. They will be showing important archaeological finds and more recent artefacts collected from across the county.
Lorraine Lindsay Gale, the council’s cabinet member for cultural and community services, said: “Let our staff share their passion for archaeology and history with you as they explain what they do to protect and preserve our heritage.”
The free event runs from 10am to 4pm.
