I AM wondering whether you can help me trace a friend from 60 years ago.
My husband and I were married on September 12, 1953 at Headington Quarry Methodist Chapel.
We had three bridesmaids. The senior one was a girl I had grown up with – Margaret Grant, who was 20 at the time and who lived with her parents and several brothers and sisters at 36, St Mary’s Road, Cowley Road, Oxford.
The last time we saw Margaret was at her 21st birthday party on January 30, 1954. We then moved away and unfortunately lost touch.
The other bridesmaids were five-year-old children, Mary Dodman, who is my niece and Maralyn Poulter who lived in Headington Quarry.
We are of course celebrating our diamond 60th anniversary here in Mullion, where we retired to 22 years ago.
It would be wonderful to find out what happened to Margaret and Maralyn and if they, or any relatives can let us know, it would make our day.
