VILLAGERS say that two new houses are going to spoil their beautiful conservation area.
Former racehorse trainer Chris Drewe has already been given planning permission for a four-bedroom house on his land at Lower Cross Farm in East Hagbourne, near Didcot. He is now seeking permission to build another which would overlook a row of neighbouring cottages.
Resident Ron Mills, 83, said: “This is a great big house amongst bungalows.
“This is being done in a conservation area in one of the most beautiful villages in South Oxfordshire.”
Retired RAF flight engineer Dave Harding, 76, said: “It is a huge development.”
Vale of White Horse District Council is due to either approve or reject the plans on September 6, but said it would be inappropriate to comment on the plan at this stage.
