OLIVER Braddy, seven has given the seal of approval to the choice of books used in the Get Oxfordshire Reading Campaign.

The Stanford in the Vale Primary School pupil is not involved in the Oxfordshire Reading Campaign, but as his school is part of the scheme, he has had a chance to read some of the titles on offer.

He said: “They’re really good. I like the way the characters are ordinary children but they turn into small people.”

He added: “I think more people are keen on reading since this started, and there is a lot more reading going on in school.

Explaining how the scheme works, he said: “Our teacher gives us the books to read, then some people go off with the teaching assistant to read, and others read on their own.

“I like talking about the stories afterwards too.”
