OXFORD’S first world music festival in 1985 included 150 concerts, workshops, dances, films and open-air and street performances.
The musicians left were pictured performing at The Plain, publicising the programme which ranged from classical works to jazz and rock.
The two-week festival, sponsored by Oxford City Council, began with a concert by the Oxfordshire Youth Orchestra and ended with a finale at St Barnabas Church, Jericho.
