THE relatives of a motorcyclist who died in Begbroke at the weekend have paid tribute to a “wonderful gentleman”.

Oxford Brookes University student Andrés Naveda, 23, died when his motorbike left the A44 at the Begbroke roundabout on Saturday evening.

In a statement released yesterday, his family said: “Andrés was a wonderful person and a gentleman to all who met him. He leaves behind his beloved girlfriend, Jayne, as well as many friends, family and his parents, Juan Carlos and Mary-Ann, all of whom will sorely miss him. God Bless Andrés, we love you.”

Mr Naveda, right, who lived in Park Street, Bladon, was studying motorsport technology and had just completed a year’s placement at the BMW plant in Cowley.

He was also a former member of London’s Royal Docks Rowing Club and a former pupil of the Campion School in Hornchurch.

The collision, which did not involve any other vehicles, happened some time between 10pm and 11.30pm on Saturday. It is thought he came off his bike and hit a sign. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned on Tuesday afternoon.
