CINDERELLA, Harry Potter and Humpty Dumpty popped up in an Oxfordshire village.
The storybook characters were created by residents of Stratton Audley, near Bicester, and were among 18 scarecrows featuring in a weekend trail around the village.
Eight gardens were also opened to the public as part of the event, which is expected to have raised about £1,700 for the village church of SS Mary and Edburga.
Jackie Fox, who organised the event, said: “The quality was really brilliant.
“We had the theme of storybooks and everybody showed really good imagination.”
Mrs Fox, husband Tony and daughter, Abigail, 27, created a Cinderella scarecrow in their own garden, using a dress Miss Fox had made aged 15.
Mr Fox said: “I thought the scarecrows were really imaginative.
“The dress on Cinderella had been handmade and not meant for a scarecrow but it did very well.”
