OUR latest loyalty card competition winner has revealed she is a life-long reader of the Oxford Mail.

Maureen Cox, 76, from Kidlington, won £250 in our loyalty card prize rollover draw this week. And she has said she will be able to take her daughter Jane out for a meal to thank her for being an “absolute gem”.

“I have been in hospital recently,” said Mrs Cox, “and winning was a nice little pick-up after being poorly.

“Jane has been an absolutely gem, she’s taken really good care of me at every doctor’s appointment and hospital visit, so I’ll maybe take her out for a meal.”

Mrs Cox was born in Cowley, moved to Headington when she was three and then to Wood Farm when she was 15.

When she married her husband Ken, who passed away in 2007, they moved to North Oxford, and both worked at St Edward’s School.

Each winner’s randomly-chosen loyalty card number is printed in the Oxford Mail every Saturday.
