I CAN only apologise for any offence I may have caused Jack Jones’s family for misunderstanding my briefing prior to meeting him.
More to the point, there was nothing in my letter to suggest that he wasn’t a decent individual.
As Mr Siret has used my letter to promote the fight against fascism by a “decent” man, no doubt he will also respect the politicians who, “metaphorically”, fought against and saw the downfall of that other evil system, totalitarian Soviet communism. Or will he regard these perfectly “decent” people with a pinch of salt.
