A coroner has recorded that a 16-year-old rugby player took his own life.
Colin Nuttall was found dead by his mother Caroline at the family home in Faringdon on New Year’s Day, just days after his birthday.
Dc Stephen Knight, of Thames Valley Police, told an inquest in Oxford that a note was found near the teenager’s body.
Oxfordshire coroner Darren Salter recorded a verdict that Colin took his own life.
Following his death, tributes poured in to the Oxford Mail.
Friends said he was a talented, natural leader, and was well liked by all.
He was team captain for Grove RFC under-15s before he switched to Wallingford Rugby Club last June.
