REPAIR works to Oxford's Botley Road have been extended by about an hour.
Southern Gas Networks earlier said the temporary traffic lights - which have been causing lengthy queues - would be removed by 3pm today.
But they are now not due to be lifted until at least 4pm. Workmen said the asphalt had not dried properly due to the warm weather.
