TRAFFIC problems in Oxford show no sign of letting up as motorists are stuck in jams across the city.
A combination of road closures, an accident, a broken down vehicle and emergency repairs have meant gridlock into the city.
Problems have hit on Botley Road, Oxford, for a second day where gas repair work means temporary traffic lights are in place at the junction of Ferry Hinksey Road.
Traffic is queueing back to Dean Court in Botley.
Heavy traffic is also reported on the A34 northbound due to a broken down vehicle between Marcham and Hinksey Hill.
And a two vehicle accident in Abingdon Road, Cumnor, on the B4017, also left long tailbacks in its wake. The accident is now cleared but traffic is still backing up.
The problems have been compounded by Magdalen Bridge being closed until about 9am due to the May morning celebrations.
Motorists queued in both directions on Donnington Bridge from just after 7am.
Drivers say journey times have doubled.
There have also been reports of bus passengers getting out and walking and drivers parking and continuing their journeys on foot.
