BARTON Community Association will hold its first meeting since a member admitted trying to smuggle a baby from Nigeria.
Simon Heap, 47, and his wife Gladys Effa-Heap, 52, claimed the baby was their own, but DNA tests confirmed neither was related to the girl.
They were both given 12-month suspended prison sentences and 250 hours’ community service at a hearing last month.
Mr Heap, of Waynflete Road, represented the association at the public inquiry into Oxford City Council’s plans to build 1,000 homes on land west of Barton last summer.
The association will hold its first meeting since the court case – which will be closed to the press and public – tomorrow.
Asked if Mr Heap’s position will be discussed, association member Sue Holden said: “I will not know until I turn up.”
