The M40 closed during the afternoon rush hour yesterday after an accident involving a car and a van.
The accident happened shortly after 4pm on the southbound carriageway at Junction 6.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital.
The road closed for a brief period but traffic was reported to be flowing again by 5.45pm.
