Last Friday evening I watched on BBC 1 Oxford, Ben Robinson The Flying Archaeologist.

How interesting this programme was and the sheer excitement during the filming in Wiltshire of finding artefacts some 4-5,000-years-old and the continued preservation of these sites. If not already viewed I would recommend those of SODC (and their associates) to watch the next episodes.

This might enable those concerned (or unconcerned) to fully understand the meaning of, the importance of and the preservation of, such areas of immense historical value, there for all to enjoy and treasure forever.

Although the recommendations not to build to the west of Didcot were overturned, the precise reasons are still unclear.

I wonder if the outcome would have been any different if those entrusted with the survey and recommendation where or not to build, had known at the time what historical and wonderful treasures lay beneath their feet?
