A CANCER sufferer has been left shaken and housebound after burglars stole her wig.
Moyra Oram did not leave her house for more than a week after thieves stole her £300 short blonde wig from her Drayton home.
The 55-year-old mother has been battling the blood cancer lymphoma for six months and is in between bouts of chemotherapy.
The thieves stole the couple’s wedding and engagement rings as well as a bracelet.
She said: “To think they could be so cruel as to take my wig as well.
“I always wear my wig, it is horrible without it. The only reason I didn’t that time was because it was very windy outside and I was only out of the house for 45 to 75 minutes. I don’t go out without it. I occasionally wear scarves or hats but I never go bald.”
Mrs Oram said the only reason she wasn’t wearing her wedding ring and jewellery was because she had lost so much weight from her illness.
Burglars forced entry through a back window of the house in Abingdon Road and searched it between 10.45am and noon on Thursday, April 18.
They also took laptops, perfume, and all Mrs Oram’s jewellery as well as her wig.
She added: “I was petrified. I haven’t been out of the house apart from half an hour, and that was just to go to the cash machine and police station.”
