BATMAN and Robin, Superman and Bananaman were among special guests at an event celebrating Children’s Hospice Week.
About 40 children, families and staff members came together at East Oxford children’s hospice Helen House on Sunday for a superheroes ‘pants’ party.
Youngsters wore pants over their costumes, and took part in activities including making miniature gingerbread superheroes.
Among the families celebrating was Rachael Hancock, 31, from Windsor, and her two children, Natasha, aged 15 months, and Nathaniel, who is nearly three.
The family has been using the hospice for respite care and support since January.
Natasha, who was dressed as Robin to her big brother’s Batman, has a chromosomal abnormality known as Edward’s Syndrome.
Mrs Hancock dressed as Superwoman.
She said: “It’s been great.
“Helen House give us lots of support, from respite care to just if you want to ring up and ask about medication or problems.
“They are always at the end of the phone.”
