TWO Oxford businesses took over the running of a charity shop on Thursday to help increase sales and raise awareness.
Staff from Carter Jonas estate agents in Banbury Road and Withy King solicitors in New Inn Hall Street took over the Helen and Douglas House shop in Banbury Road. The event included a tombola and a prize draw for a magnum of Champagne. There was also a cup cake decorating demonstration by Julia Atkinson of Happy Cakes, Oxford.
Juliana Markeson, sales negotiator at Carter Jonas, said the teams raised £1,444.98 between them, a record amount for the charity’s shops. She added: “We all thoroughly enjoyed it.”
