Sir – In May 1943, the Oxford Playhouse company put on the world premiere — and quite possibly the only production ever — of Downfall, Douglas Reed’s play about Adolf Hitler.
Copies of the published text of the play are easy to find, as is The Oxford Times’s less than enthusiastic review!
But, sadly, even the Playhouse’s archive lacks a copy of the printed programme. Might one of your readers have a programme — or any other material about this production — which I could take a look at? I will, of course, guarantee to take good care of any material and return it promptly. I can be contacted at c.sladen@btopenworld.com
