A HEALTH service watchdog said it managed to achieve its target of inspecting 447 Oxfordshire institutions in the year ending April 1.
Concerns were raised in March that the Care Quality Commission (CQC) did not have enough inspectors to complete the task. The CQC only had two inspectors in November and five in March, but had increased this to 10 by the end of the month.
It has responsibility for inspecting all Oxfordshire’s health and social care institutions, ranging from care homes and dentists to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital.
A CQC spokeswoman said last night: “We can confirm that all the services in Oxfordshire scheduled for an inspection last year received one. Reports from the last few inspections of the year will be published on our website shortly.”
