A RICH list of university graduates has revealed that the city’s alumni top the table.

Oxford University has the most ex-students with the highest net worth, according to a study by Wealth-X wealth analysts.

The report, featuring 20 UK universities, counted 2,318 ex-students who were ultra high net worth individuals, or UHNWIs.

Of these, 401 graduated from Oxford University and are now worth more than £33bn ($51bn).

The University of Cambridge came in second with 361 alumni with ultra high wealth.

However, Cambridge’s 361 are worth £61bn ($93bn) – almost twice as much as Oxford’s.

London School of Economics came third.

Mike Byrne, European sales director at Wealth-X, said: “Seventeen out of the 24 Russell Group universities are featured in the report, which reflects the ability of such prestigious institutions to attract high calibre individuals who proceed to create financial success.”

UHNWIs are people worth at least £19.4m ($30) after accounting for shares in companies, residential and investment properties, art, cash and other assets.
