WITH the recent passing of Margaret Thatcher, it is surprising how similar her life compares to that of Eva Peron of Argentina.
Both women hailed from humble and obscure backgrounds to achieve fame as political heavyweights.
In Margaret Thatcher’s case, as a grocer’s daughter from Grantham, she became (for some) a revered and idolised leader of a nation for more than a decade.
We already have had a film made about the sadder, latter part of her life, but now is surely the time for Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh to collaborate and produce another outstanding West End theatrical production – Margarita, the musical, with some new hit songs in the score like I’m just Wild About Dennis, Don’t Cry for Me Arthur Scargill and Any Old Iron Lady.
