I visited Oxford with my son who is confined to a wheelchair and we had occasion to visit the recently refurbished public toilets in Market Street.
My son produced his radar key but could not open the door to the disabled toilet.
This was because there was an additional lock on the door which was in turn firmly locked.
There was no sign to say how we could get the door unlocked so this left my son frustrated to say the least.
What is the point in providing a disabled toilet on the radar key scheme which cannot be opened by users?
Disabled people have enough problems in their lives without this sort of incident – Oxford has very few disabled toilets as it is.
