WHEN Donna-Marie Gibson was offered a place to run the London Marathon for a military charity the 35-year-old didn’t think she would raise the necessary £1,600.

But having completed the race in four hours and 17 minutes – and after a collection in the streets of Oxford – the RAF Brize Norton-based corporal has raised £2,580 for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.

The charity provides financial and practical support to soldiers, former soldiers, and their families.

She said: “I am quite passionate about what I do so any kind of forces charity is worth my time.

“The marathon went brilliantly. I loved every minute of it. I wanted to run it in four hours but there were so many people. I’m glad to have finished it.”
