MARKET Place is expected to be packed with people today for St George’s Day celebrations.
Although the saint’s day falls on Tuesday, the town is staging its activities early to allow more people to attend.
St George’s Day has been a major fixture in the town for several years.
A town council spokesman said: “Between 10am and 4pm there will be activities, including face-painting and dog-washing.”
