IT does surprise me that at my sweet age of 52, having lived under a prime minister who was re-elected time over, that a lot of the people celebrating a recent death will probably go on to inherit, or have inherited, their parents’ old council house which is now worth a fortune in Oxford.
I well remember the days of the old council house with a wooden front door being replaced with UPVC doors – this was a status symbol that you had prospered with pride. Sweet memories!
