SOME of Oxford’s finest exports took to the highway to celebrate and commemorate the car factory centenary.
The second Cowley to Longbridge convoy event took place on Saturday to mark 100 years of what is now the Cowley Mini Plant.
Drivers took about 100 Oxford-made cars – and a few others – on the 50-mile trip, which also commemorated the closure of the plant’s sister factory in Longbridge in 2005.
Among those taking part was Mini Cooper owner and professional delivery driver Colin Woodage, inset.
Mr Woodage, 44, said: “It was brilliant fun. It’s the second one they’ve done but this one was important because it’s the 100 years of the Cowley plant.”
