Three men have been arrested on suspicion of assault after an alleged attack following a football match in Barton.
The incident is reported to have happened at Barton Recreation Ground between 4pm and 4.30pm on Saturday, after AFC Hinksey played Headington Amateurs.
Police said a 26-year-old Headington player was allegedly attacked by players from the opposing team and had his nose broken.
He was treated at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
Three men, aged 31, 28 and 26, all from Oxford, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and released on police bail.
