ENTRIES have opened for this year’s midnight walk event to raise cash for Katharine House Hospice.

The 10.5-mile after-dark walk will start at Banbury Cricket Club, Bodicote, and go round Banbury and back to the club.

Some 600 people last year took part to raise £76,000 and the six events in total have raised £526,000.

Registration costs £15 and include a high-visibility T-shirt, snacks and drinks en route, and a medal and breakfast bap at the finish.

The walk, which begins at midnight on Saturday, June 29, is open to people aged 12 and over and children must be accompanied by an adult. Entrants can also choose a 6.3-mile walk.

Event co-ordinator Sheila Norton said: “This is our seventh midnight walk and it has become our most important fundraising event of the year.

“When we held the first walk in 2007, we never thought that it would still be so popular seven years later.

“We were delighted by the fantastic amount raised last year – this is so very much appreciated by everyone at Katharine House.”

Entries close on Wednesday, June 12. To take part call Sheila Norton on 01295 812161 or visit khh.org.uk
