Sir – I am indebted to councillor Rodney Rose (deputy leader of Oxfordshire County Council) for responding to my letter of March 14 noting that the Highways Agency is responsible for the farcical state of affairs re the A34 bridge barrier. However, I was somewhat disappointed that his letter (March 28) stopped there.
As our elected representative and with direct access to the Agency (unlike his constituents), I trust that he has made enquiries with the agency to determine when this sorry state of affairs will be remedied and will keep his constituents informed?
